Some of you may have read one of my blogs about how tunnel bags are so unjustifiably expensive, if not you can read it here. I feel this way because they are either a water resistant book bag, or some other form of bag that looks more like a thermal bag for your lunch than a snowmobile tunnel bag. If you were to say it was for putting your lunch in, then there is no way they could charge $80- $150. Well PinNgiggle and I have come up with a cheap solution that I think you will like. It requires some button snaps and a book bag of your choice. We have put together a video tutorial of what we did, so that you can try it yourself.
The book bag we chose is made of canvas and said Everest on it. It is going on a 2011 Ski Doo Summit Everest so it just made sense to get the Everest bag. As a bonus it only cost $11.99. We are also going to treat the bag with waterproofing spray. In the video we used standard snaps. Since then, I have done more research and I have found some snaps that are much stronger and only come loose if pulled from a certain direction. Maybe you have heard of them, they are called "Pull The Dot" snaps. Here is a YouTube video that I didn't make on the Pull The Dot snaps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utcyUCU62QI
It should be easy to replace the snaps we already installed on there with the Pull The Dot snaps because they are basically the same package size. It will just require drilling the old snaps out, and installing the new ones in their place.
Ok, that is enough about that. Without further adieu, Here is the video:
If you have questions feel free to ask them in the comments bellow. I will be prompt to answer.
